Arisa and Meiko

So this is a different sort of caption for me.  I was aiming to make it as wholesome as I could.

Akane had brought the picture to my attention, saying it could be of a Sakimori helping a lost child, which evolved into this.  Given that the dialogue is all from a child or an adult speaking to said child, I had to put extra thought into how to word things to avoid complicated words a child of Arisa's age wouldn't know.

Making this, I discovered making wholesome stuff like this is fun.  I may do more like this in the future....

"Well, hello there, young lady."
"W-who are you?" the girl asked.
"My name's Meiko.  What's yours?"
"A-Arisa."
"Is everything alright, Arisa-chan?"
The girl sniffled.  "No... I'm lost.  I don't know where I am!"
"I see.  It's scary here, isn't it?"
Arisa nodded.
"Let's hold hands.  It won't be as scary that way."
Meiko offered her hand, and Arisa took it.
"See?  It's not so bad now, is it?"
"I guess so... what about you, miss?  Aren't you scared?"
"I am, actually, yeah.  This isn't a place most people can get to.  I'm curious, how'd you do it?"
"I don't know, I..." Arisa began, collecting her thoughts.  "Well, I... my mommy gave me these powers... and she was teaching me how to use them... but I was here all of a sudden!"
"Powers?  So you're a Super Goddess?"
"L-like Empress Shizuka?  N-no."
"Oh, you're not?  I guess I got the wrong idea from how beautiful you are.  My mistake."
Arisa smiled for the first time.
"Feeling better now?" Meiko asked.
She nodded.  "A little."
"Good!  Well, let's see... if you're not a Super Goddess, then maybe... you're an Enhanced?"
"E-Enhanced... yeah!  That's what my mommy said!  She's an Enhanced too!"
"Oh, really?  Just like me!" Meiko chirped.
"Like you?"
"Yeah!  Do you know what a Sakimori is?"
"No..."
"We're a bunch of Enhanceds who make sure everyone in the country is safe!"
"S-Saki-- Sakiromi...?" Arisa stared at Meiko, filled with childlike wonder.
Meiko giggled.  "Right!  Your mommy was very worried when you disappeared and came here, so she asked Empress Shizuka for help, and she sent me here."
"Do you know how to get out of here?"
"I do!  We're actually outside the space-time continuum right now, but don't worry, I know the way out!"
"Whooooa... y-you must be really super powerful!"
"I could say the same to you, reaching a place like this at your age."
"R-really?"
"Oh, absolutely!  You might even become as powerful as me as a grown-up!  But for now, you need to be careful with your powers.  Your mommy's a good teacher, so listen to her, okay?"  She offered her pinky finger.
"Promise?"
Arisa eagerly linked her own pinky with Meiko's.
"I promise!"
"Great!  Let's head back, sweetie.  Okay?"
"Okay!"
