The Silver-Eyed Goddess

It's like when your eyes turn to silver, except not really like that at all.

I keep thinking wholesome SFW captions aren't my forte, and yet they keep coming up every now and again. Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

I'm not much of a RWBY fan (hence why I recruited OmniScribbler's assistance), so I don't have a terribly clear idea of when this takes place relative to the canonical RWBY timeline.

Penny's appearance is consistent with her initial look in the earlier volumes--a fact corroborated by the picture's posting (on Danbooru--the original source isn't available anymore, see below) on August 19, 2017, not long after her final appearance prior to her redesign.  The Gods of Light and Darkness and the creation of Remnant were depicted in The Lost Fable, (after PvP but before The Greatest Kingdom), but Ruby's ascension could have easily given her additional insight beyond what she knew at some earlier point in the story.  Honestly, unless Ruby and Penny have a picnic at some point and this picture is of that moment, then its placement in RWBY canon is entirely arbitrary.

TRANSCRIPT:
"Ah, this is the life!" Ruby sighed.
"Indeed!" Penny chirped.  "However, I am... curious how we arrived here....  What happened to us?  Were we not in battle mere moments ago?"
"No, not really.  We've been here for close to an hour now."
"Are you... certain?"
Ruby immediately understood Penny's confusion.  "Ah, that robot mind of yours must not have adapted to the change yet.  You've got sturdier stuff in your noggin than most humans!"
"I'm... confused."
"Well, the short version is that I became a goddess and I brought you here with me."
"A-- a goddess?  I... what?  How?"
"I'm a Silver-Eyed Warrior--one who possesses a connection to the Realm of Light.  I figured out how to harness that power and wound up taking all of it into myself!  Apparently the power in that Realm surpassed what the God of Light wields, since I left him in the dust!
"After that, I could feel the Realm of Darkness and its affinity to Salem.  I didn't want to think about what horrors she could inflict with that power, so I took it for myself too!  As a result, I'm omnipotent!
"In fact, I was always omnipotent, since my apotheosis was retroactive.  That explains your memory problems."
Penny sat in silence for a long moment, processing everything.  "Wow, this is... a lot to take in.  Where are we, anyway?"
"Oh, this is a realm of my own that I made for us."
"Astounding..." Penny whispered, positively awestruck.
"But wait, there's more!"
A teacup and pot levitated before the robot and poured her a cup.  When Penny looked over at Ruby in disbelief, the omnipotent Huntress simply grinned.
"I brought you here because there's something else I've been meaning to tell you," Ruby continued, telekinetically pouring herself a cup.
"Penny Polendina... I love you."
Penny gasped slightly.  "Y-you do?"
"Without a doubt!"
Penny stifled a laugh.  "I-I'm sorry, it's just that I was about to say the same to you!"
It was Ruby's turn to gasp.  She took a moment to choose her words.  "To be completely honest, I was expecting you to turn me down!"
A moment of shared surprise quickly became one of relieved laughter.
"You know, I'd be happy to share my goddesshood with you," Ruby said, "if you want."
Penny stammered, "Y-yeah!  That would be amazing!"
Ruby grinned.  "Have some tea."
Penny took a sip... and just like that, she was one with everything--filled with bliss.
"Oh my!  I've never tasted anything so delicious before!  As a matter of fact, I feel amazing!  What is this, anyway?"
"Black tea, magically enhanced to be objectively and absolutely delicious.  Don't be shy--it's not like I can't manifest more if we need it!"
"You're too kind, Ruby!"
"Nonsense!  I'm sure you'd do the same in my place, especially with infinite power at your disposal!"
"That's a fair point.  And now that I'm a goddess too..."
Tested the new powers at her command, she reached out and sent her bliss throughout the multiverse.  Wars came to an end, bitter rivalries forgotten, grudges forgiven.  All existence became a better place.
"What a wonderful idea!"  Ruby followed suit and kissed Penny on the cheek.  Penny shorted out for a moment, but it was laughably easy to break out of it.
With a beatific smile, Penny linked her arm with Ruby's and had another sip of tea.  Goddesshood was going to be fun.
